The big news for 2022!

08.12.2021

Terra Botanica unveils its two major novelties for the 2022 season. From July onwards, night-time events will immerse visitors in a dreamlike wander through the world of plants. A truly poetic journey to the heart of the world-tree. Before that, in the spring, extraordinary plant creatures in the form of mosaics and topiaries will be on display in the park.

For Pierre Watrelot, the park's director, "Terra Botanica had the vocation to open in the evening to offer our visitors an additional experience. After the success of the first edition of the Envolées Végétales festival last year and its renewal in 2022, Terra Botanica's nocturnes will complete the park's evening experience. It will be a dreamlike and original stroll that will take place every evening starting in July.

"Extending the plant experience into the evening was a request from our visitors, for whom Terra Botanica has now become a real tourist destination, the site being the second most visited theme park in the Pays de la Loire". After the daytime discovery of the five universes of the park, Terra Botanica will propose every evening from July onwards a stroll at nightfall. During their walk, visitors will progress to the heart of the world tree, a vertical visit from foliage to roots. The concept chosen is immersive and poetic. It is a contemplative, emotional and interactive progression through several of the park's worlds.

The walk enhances the natural setting and follows a lifeline along the way. "The aim is to give visitors the feeling that they are an integral part of nature, its life force, its creativity and even its destiny. These night-time events are expected to attract several thousand visitors from the summer of 2022, some of whom will extend their daytime visit to the park while others will find it an idea for an evening out.

The gradual arrival throughout the spring of extraordinary animals from different worlds...

Prior to these nocturnes, we will have the gradual arrival throughout the spring of plant animals, such as a giant dragon in mosaiculture, but also other extraordinary creatures. Gradually, a whole bestiary of plants will be installed in the park. These artistic works are in the continuity of the three giants of the Mysteries of the Forest, the Ogre or the Mammoth. They will provide a real show and will amaze young and old alike.

"Terra Botanica's mission is to present the extraordinary wealth of plant biodiversity from all continents, but also to amaze our visitors through original displays, original shows and activities for all audiences," explains Pierre Watrelot. "Our ambition is also to further enhance the value of plant art, which sublimates flowers, plants and trees, such as topiary and mosaic art. Mirroring the plant kingdom, the park will also give greater prominence to the animal kingdom with the inclusion of a veritable plant bestiary and the gradual arrival of extraordinary animals and other plant sculptures over the coming months and years. Among these 'plant animals', Terra Botanica will welcome species from different continents but also creatures from other worlds... One of the most impressive of them will undoubtedly be a mosaic dragon several metres high, a structure that will take shape as spring progresses. Between now and its complete moult in May, the public will be able to discover amazing plant creatures in the alleys and gardens of the park from the opening of the park on 2 April...
