Free lecture: The unfathomable mystery of the origin of flowering plants!

11.09.2024

TERRA BOTANICA and LE GEVES present Eric Dépré, a passionate, self-taught palaeontologist with an exceptional collection!

If the representation of Life on Earth and its evolution are often crushed by Jurassic giants, what can we say about the forests in which they hunted or reproduced?

What did plants look like 100 million years ago? But above all...what was the first plant to produce flowers?

This evening, Eric Dépré, paleobotany enthusiast and creator of a museum containing over 15,000 specimens, will attempt to shed some light on the subject.

The documentary "From the Ile d'Aix to Angoulème in search of the sunken forest, 100 million years ago" will also be on show, along with an exhibition of fossil plants from the Cretaceous of Charente-Maritime, not forgetting some remains of dinosaurs from this sunken forest.
