Summary: In 1800, Bonaparte launched a great expedition to the still poorly known Southern Lands, under the command of Nicolas Baudin. Two hundred men, including about forty scientists and several draftsmen, embarked on two ships for a risky voyage of several years. The official goal was to develop scientific and cartographic knowledge of what was then called "New Holland" and "Van Diemen's Land", respectively Australia and Tasmania.
For the botanist Francis Hallé, walking through these same spaces more than two centuries later is like plunging into the observation of a fascinating and sometimes even immortal nature with the same scientific passion and graphic talent...
Prices: 5€ for adults / 3€ for students / Free for school children. Registration before 12 March by email to sesa49@gmail.com
